Bournemouth Modern Jazz Club uses a number of venues. Gigs programmed so far for 2007 will take place at Centre Stage, Westbourne, or Lighthouse, Poole's Centre for the Arts.

The 200 capacity Centre Stage is Bournemouth's smartest new venue and we're delighted to be putting on gigs there. Feedback from visiting artists and punters has been extremely positive - veteran conguero Robin Jones described it, without too much exaggeration as "better than Ronnie Scott's!" You can order food as you listen and there is full disabled access. The venue is a dedicated performance space. There is also a pub next door as well as a bar in the club. Centre Stage hosts live music most nights of the week. Come and check it out.

Centre Stage is easy to find. The Pig and Whistle pub complex (which includes Centre Stage) is close to the main road to Bournemouth (A338 / Wessex Way).

From the north east direction (Southampton, Ringwood etc) the Spur Road (A338) becomes Wessex Way. At the second roundabout on the Wessex Way (Bournemouth West Roundabout) turn left.
Go to St Michael's Roundabout (about 200 yards) and take last turnoff (ie right) into Poole Road.
Take first right at lights (200 yards) into Queens Road.
The Pig and Whistle pub is a few yards down on the left on the corner. Centre Stage is next door (0 above).
There is a large car park opposite the venue which is free after 6pm.

The regular M1 and M2 bus services running between Bournemouth and Poole stop close to the venue on Poole Road.

Music at Centre Stage starts at 8.30pm and ends at 11pm.
